Welcome to Brackensdale Infant School

Brackensdale Infant School is an Enhanced Resource Community school, maintained by Derby City Council. The School is not connected with any religious denomination. The School has a nursery class, for children aged 3 and 4, and eight infant classes for children between the ages of 4 and 7.

Consultation on Merger

Consultation on the possible merger of Brackensdale Infant School and Brackensdale Junior School is open until July 25th. If confirmed, the planned merger will take effect from January 2018 when the schools would become Brackensdale Primary School.

Extended Childcare Offer

Currently all 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to 570 hours of free childcare a year (38 weeks at 15 hours per week) as a universal offer. In September 2017 this will be increased for eligible families up to 1140 hours, known as the Extended Free Childcare Offer. Further details below: Extended Childcare Offer
