Effective Action

The School had a further inspection by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate on 16 July 2013. We challenge you to read 5 new books in the summer holidays. You don’t need to buy new books simply visit the library in Mackworth on Prince Charles Avenue or why not try Mickleover’s library on Holly End Road? Both Libraries are well stocked and the staff will be very happy to see you. Fill in the Reading Challenge Form and return it in September.

Summer Fair – Thurs 4 July 2013

We would really appreciate your donations/offers of help with our Summer Fair this year. Book Week 13 June – 19 June

The Travelling Book Fair was in the School Hall and open every afternoon from 14th to 19th June.  Parents came to look at the fantastic collection of books. On Friday 14 June we held a STORY DAY in School and at 2.40 there was a STORY DAY ASSEMBLY for parents. School Expansion

There is a shortage of school places in primary schools both nationally and in Derby. Along with a number of Derby schools, we have been asked to increase the number of children we admit each year into Reception from 60 to 90 pupils. There will be additional classroom space needed – a temporary classroom for September 2013 and a permanent building with three classrooms

Childcare for Two Year Olds

The Government has provided funding to allow around 20% of two year olds to have up to 10 hours of childcare during term time. Children gain eligibility through a range of benefits.
