Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers

We are collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers. Please support our School.

Red Nose Day – 15 March 2013

“Red Nose Day” was on Friday 15 March. School participated in this fundraising event. Children and staff dressed up and there was a raffle plus cake sale. We are very pleased with the amount raised – £326.58. A big ‘Thank You’ to our parents.

Parent Consultations

Parent consultations were held week commencing 25 February.


Rammie visited School on 23 January to lead an assembly.

Christmas Parties

The Christmas Party for all pupils (except Nursery) will be held on Thursday, 20 December in the afternoon.   The Nursery Christmas Party – for both morning and afternoon pupils – will be held on Friday, 21 December at 9.45 until 11.45am. There will be no Nursery on Friday afternoon.

KS1 Art Gallery

This term, the children in the four Key Stage 1 classes – Owls, Chameleons, Peacocks and Koalas – have been learning about the Arctic and Antarctic in the topic ‘Pole to Pole’. On Tuesday 4 December during the afternoon, parent visited our ‘Art Gallery’ to see the children’s work.  

Nursery Parents – Stay and Play

Parents of children who attend Brackensdale Nursery were invited to ‘stay and play’ on Wednesday 5 December. Parents made Christmas decorations with their children.

Festival of Diwali

The children had the opportunity to dance, make diva pots and lanterns and decorate rangoli patterns during the day. Also, they heard the story of Rama and Sita. At the end of the day, parents joined an assembly for a showcase of the activities.

Litter theatre production

The children enjoyed a performance by “Circus Takeaway Ltd.” which was to encourage recycling and not dropping litter. This was funded by the Local Neighbourhood Board through Street Pride
