This term, the children in the four Key Stage 1 classes – Owls, Chameleons, Peacocks and Koalas – have been learning about the Arctic and Antarctic in the topic ‘Pole to Pole’. On Tuesday 4 December during the afternoon, parent visited our ‘Art Gallery’ to see the children’s work.
Parents of children who attend Brackensdale Nursery were invited to ‘stay and play’ on Wednesday 5 December. Parents made Christmas decorations with their children.
The children had the opportunity to dance, make diva pots and lanterns and decorate rangoli patterns during the day. Also, they heard the story of Rama and Sita. At the end of the day, parents joined an assembly for a showcase of the activities.
The children enjoyed a performance by “Circus Takeaway Ltd.” which was to encourage recycling and not dropping litter. This was funded by the Local Neighbourhood Board through Street Pride
Each class made a scarecrow as part of our Harvest Celebration. A range of fresh produce as well as tinned and packet goods were donated to Derby’s Padley Centre.
