Enhanced Resource / Special Educational Needs and Disability

Enhanced Resource places are for children who have communication and language disorders and may have a diagnosis of Autism. All children in the Enhanced Resource have a Statement of Special Needs / Education, Health Care Plan provided by the Local Authority. This describes the child’s needs, and sets objectives for school staff to work towards during the child’s time in the nursery and infant school.

There are 6 Enhanced Resource places within each year group. The Ark is a specialist facility for children with autism.

Our Inclusion Manager and Learning Support Team help children with learning difficulties by ensuring that additional help is given to pupils individually and in groups. Our Learning Mentor ensures that the personal and social needs of our pupils are met.

Disability provision: The School has a ramp at the main entrance, a ramp into the dining room and a lift to the main body of the School, to enable wheel chair users to access the building. The main corridors have additional lighting for pupils with a visual impairment.
